Bella Hadid in Miami as hundreds remain stranded at Fyre

  • Organizers told A-listers to hold off going to the doomed festival until the ‘kinks were worked out’
  • Packages cost up to £10,000 which included flights and ocean-view glamping
  • Revelers arrived to find unfinished site, piles of rubbish and feral dogs
  • Festival was officially cancelled on Friday morning
  • Co-organizer Ja Rule took to Twitter to apologize for Fyre Fest saying it was ‘NOT A SCAM’
  • One guest said the festival scene looked like the set of disaster movie ‘Outbreak’

Looks like this model was one of the lucky ones to get the call that the Fyre Festival was a bust.

As hundreds of festival goers, who shelled out thousands of dollars, battled to get home from the Fyre Festival, Bella Hadid spent the day in the lap of luxury on Friday.

Many shelled out up to $13,000 to party alongside the 20-year-old and her model mates but she never left Miami to join them.

So instead of flying out from Miami – which served as the travel base for those headed to the festival – Bella kicked back by the pool.

Getting a chance to catch some rays in a tiny weeny bikini was obviously a very different experience to those left at the festival site or sleeping in the airport trying to get home.

While those at Fyre battled over water and were fed cheese sandwiches – if they were lucky – the model had drink and food waiters ready to fetch her whatever her heart desired.

Just chilling: Many shelled out up to $13,000 to party alongside the 20-year-old and her model mates but she never left Miami to join them

As Bella stretched out on her crisp white high thread count towel-covered pool chair, festival goers were lining up for hours to get a flight home or facing another night on wet mattresses in FEMA-style tents.

It is also safe to say that the beauty did not have to worry about hoards of feral dogs as she and her friend Fanny Bourdette-Donon relaxed.

If she was concerned about her name being connected to one of the most poorly executed festivals in living music memory, Bella was not showing it.

She and Fanny chatted away and checked out their phones poolside.

Ready to beat the Miami heat before it became too unbearable, Bella popped into the pool.

The catwalk star gingerly walked down the luxury hotel’s pool stairs before putting her shoulders under the cool waters.

For her pool day, Bella showed off her famous frame in a cheeky white bikini.

The white swimsuit featured a white fixed triangle bra which was classic and understated.

But the model turned up the heat thanks to her daring bottoms which were a Brazilian, almost thong, cut.

The brief bottoms left her derriere exposed and she wore the adjustable straps up and over her hips.

Aside from the barely-there bathers, Bella kept the sun off her face with a straw fedora.

The 20-year-old also added some bling wearing a gold chain and some crucifix earrings.

As Bella tanned and relaxed, the festival which she helped to promote was due to start – if it had not been cancelled on Friday morning.

Bella along with Elsa Hosk, Emily Ratajkowsk, Lais Ribeiro, Gizele Oliveira and Rose Bertram were invited to the island in December ‘to give feedback’ on the festival launch.

Their visit was video tapped and used to encourage people to buy tickets to the music festival.

Bella also posted numerous social media shots of herself enjoying her vacation in the Bahamas.

It is not known if the star and her beautiful pals actually visited the private island located in Exumas that the festival was held on or another one in the cay.

Bella’s and the other models’ Instagram snaps certainly did not look like those being posted by those who arrived early at the festival.

Pictures on social media by those at Fyre showed half-built tents, wet mattresses, mountains of trash.

Those on site claimed there was rat droppings everywhere dogs wandering around, thugs looting alcohol and no electricity.

Some claim there was not enough water and despite the promise of gourmet food there was little more than sad sandwiches for a lucky few and chips for the rest of the crowd.

Be bold in bright red Balenciaga like Hailey

Although the Frye Festival may have gone up in flames, Hailey Baldwin who was associated with the marketing was no shrinking violet while out and about in New York.

In a bold red scarlet red sweatshirt, sweatpants and lace up heels, she was not afraid to stand out in a crowd.

You can buy her ‘Spandex’ sweatshirt from Balenciaga at Net-a-Porter (click over to the right). But we should warn you that it’ll set you back a cool $355.

Writer William Finley, who paid $8,999 to attend the festival, expected to spend the weekend in ‘the lodge’ package, complete with four king beds and all-inclusive meals.

‘A three-to-four-night stay in a four-room lodge, you’re seeing A-list acts and you’d get there by private jet, it’s a steal,’ said Finley to the LA Times.

After arriving to tents that were used by FEMA for disaster relief, Finley said that the grounds reminded him more of an apocalyptic movie.

‘It looked like the set of ‘Outbreak.’ There were hundreds of tents. Beds everywhere. Nothing was finished,’ said Finley.

Festival organizers said Friday that the event had been ‘fully postponed’ due to ‘unforeseen and extenuating circumstances’ while Bahamas tourism bosses have today offered ‘heartfelt apologies’.

Ticket prices ranged from $400 for a day pass to more than $12,750 for a VIP package including flights from Miami, ocean view accommodation in a ‘rustic tent’ and four festival passes.

According to Page Six A-listers – which may have included Bella – were warned not to head to the site.

A source told Page Six: ‘They called all the A-list names and the modeling agencies and told them not to come. They were just like, ”Oh, come next weekend when all the kinks have been worked out.” This was before the chaos even started.’

Co-organizer Ja Rule took to Twitter to apologize for Fyre Fest saying it was: ‘NOT A SCAM. We are working right now on getting everyone of[f] the island SAFE that is my immediate concern… I will make a statement soon I’m heartbroken at this moment my partners and I wanted this to be an amazing event it was NOT A SCAM as everyone is reporting.

‘I don’t know how everything went so left but I’m working to make it right by making sure everyone is refunded… I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT… but I’m taking responsibility I’m deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this…’

Paying guests were told they could expect to stay in ‘modern, eco-friendly, geodesic domes’ while the super-rich had the option of upgrading to hire yachts for more than $100,00.

However, people arriving on site last night expecting to be pampered with luxurious VIP service likened the ‘cabanas’ accommodation to disaster zone relief tents.

Others reported seeing piles of rubbish and an empty ‘concierge’ hut in front of piles of unopened boxes. Pictures emerged online of the ‘luxury food court’ with people sitting on folding chairs next to a school bus.

A performance line-up over two weekends boasted the likes of Pusha T, Tyga, Blink 182, Major Lazer, Skepta and Disclosure.

But last night Blink 182 pulled out of the event. The band said in a message to fans: ‘Regrettably and after much careful consideration, we want to let you know that we won’t be performing at Fyre Fest in the Bahamas this weekend and next weekend.

‘We’re not confident that we would have what we need to give you the quality of performances we always give our fans.’

One Twitter user described the festival as ‘Rich Kids of Instagram meets Lord of the Flies’.

One festival go-er, Tilly Smith, has revealed she was planning on fly to the Fyre festival this week with 30 friends who had spent over $1,300 each thinking they were going to enjoy an experience of a lifetime.

Miss Smith was named the ‘Angel of the Tsunami’ as a ten-year-old schoolgirl when she saved her family and hundreds of Thai people by warning a Tsunami was about to hit the beach.

One Twitter user, Lamaan, posted a picture of a row of white tents in the darkness along with the message: 'Stuck at #fyrefestival trying to leave for the last 8 hours. barely any food or water or security or electricity'

The 22-year-old and her friends had been lured into shelling out a total of $15,500 on tickets alone for the festival by promises of flights on a private jet to the festival site and photos of supermodels frolicking in the warm Bahamas sea.

She said: ‘The Fyre festival homepage made it seem so amazing. It was being hailed as the festival of the year with loads of A-list celebs supposed to be going and a line up of really good musical stars.

‘We thought it was just going to be out of this world. The photos on the Fyre homepage were sensational, lots of famous models like Bella Hadid playing in the sand and sea, promises of five-star boutique camping with even waiter service and gourmet food.

‘We were even going to be whisked from Miami by private jet to the festival, it just seemed like a once in a lifetime thing that was going to be fantastic.

‘There was stuff about it all over social media with celebs talking about it and stars posting about it on their Instagram. We thought we were going to be living it up in luxury instead of slumming it like you normally do at a festival.

‘All of us were so excited, we all fell for it and decided we’d go as a big group. It’s all we’ve been talking about for weeks.’

Miss Smith and her group were due to jet out this week to Miami where they were going to enjoy a couple of days in the sunshine before being taken by private jet to the Bahamas where the festival was due to take place over two weekends.

But in the early hours of Friday morning Tilly, who works for a Yacht chartering company in London, received a phone call from a friend who had gone ahead of the group and had already arrived at the festival.

She said: ‘He was absolutely gutted. He said the place was a complete dump, just a rain soaked mud bowl. There was basically nothing there. The boutique tents hadn’t been put up, The stages were tiny. He said there was filth everywhere and more worryingly really fierce dogs running about. He said angry locals had started threatening people as well.

‘He said basically it was worse than a refugee camp.’

She added: ‘I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was so upset, we all are. We just feel we’ve all been victims of one big scam.

‘How can they have posted glamorous photos like that and promised all the stuff they did and then it turn out the way it has? The organisers can’t have had anything properly in place for this to happen.’

‘But they just seemed to carry on taking the money right up until the day it opened.’

There were also reports in the festival grounds that booze was being looted while others said up to $60,000 of alcohol had been given away to ‘keep people happy’.

So-called ‘influencers’ brought in to raise the profile of the event were reportedly promised free food and drink – but were instead told to pay for everything.

Tents were supposed to be reserved but many of them were simply ‘claimed’ for themselves by revelers as they arrived on site.

This afternoon, the festival had replaced its website – earlier showing models posing on the beach and glamorous revelers dancing into the night – with a short statement.

‘Fyre Festival set out to provide a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas,’ it said.

‘Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests.
